Wow! This day marks 1 year ago God allowed me to become a Survivor instead of a Statistic from a massive stroke that medically should have ended my life but didn't! Every moment, every let down, every fail, every struggle, every closed door, every goodbye and every "not letting go" since that day has made me a Warrior! Each breath I've taken since then...only reminds me that I'm Blessed by the Best and I'm thankful to be alive!!!! I have survived and made great strides this past year. A year ago I couldn't wiggle my toes or move my arm and hand on my left side. I continue to go to physical therapy 3 days a week. I'm grateful to be walking and regained my balance. Still working on bending my affected leg more when I walk. Haven't been able to run yet, but I entered a race in August so I'm determined to learn how to run again by then. It's unbelievable how much I used to take for granted with my body. Not realizing how much work your brain does to make your body function!! My affected arm is getting stronger and my fingers move!!! Working hard to get my fingers to flatten so I can type again and have an easier time picking things up. But I'm determined to become 100%. All the prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated from everyone this past year.
I couldn't have survived without you all.
