So Oprah not sure you'll ever read this or even know who I am? 

My name is Aaron Avila and here is my story.

I just got done watching Father Richard Rohr and so moved was I, I must write you!

This episode was different than the many other awesome Super Soul Sunday episodes I've watched prior. 

During this episode I was awe struck by just how spiritually aware you folks are!

This had such an impact on my soul I realized how little I know about the spiritual realm and even God himself. This awareness humbled me.

I am a wheelchair bound, 1/2 paralyzed, can't speak very well stroke survivor and I must say every episode you film in your garden/grounds in Hawaii blows my mind!

I find myself amazed at how you and your guests so freely express yourself about the spiritual. Sitting in what must be one of the most stunning places on earth. 

I just want to take my time to express to you Oprah, my to the core of who I am  gratefulness I feel inside for what you do and who you are to me!

In my darkest hour (stroke survival) you inspired me to better myself spiritually.

There's hope! Ya, my body and it's abilities have been taken from me as fast as lightning strikes. There's hope for as you taught me, I'm a spiritual creature learning to live in a human body. Therefore my body though seriously damaged, is not who I am. The spiritual true me is untouched. Infact stroke as catastrophic it is, has produced in me the birth of the new powerful spiritual me.

So thank you Oprah for giving me food that is eternal. Food for my soul.

6 years ago was when Bret Michaels became one of us... this is also the day they discovered that I had an non-ruptured aneurysm in my brain... I have idolized Bret since I was a little kid, so the irony between his rupturing and them finding mine on the same day was crazzzzzyyyyy...

6 years ago my entire life changed... and here I am smile emoticon just turned 28, 1 year and 10 months post op from clipping that bomb, and surviving!!!

Hi peeps!

I'm typing this Blog out of absolute frustration!

I CALL IT!

STROKE SURVIVOR INSOMNIA!

DUNT! DUNT! DU! (GET IT?) LOL

I woke up at 1:30am laid in bed until 3:30 am!

This stroke survivors insomnia has been only  getting worse as time goes on! GRRRRR!

I have battled stroke survivor insomnia to some degree since my stroke September 2010. 

All the Doctors want to do is prescribe highly addictive major side effects narcotics at you! 

Now!

How has stroke survivor insomnia negatively impacted my recovery?

Because a terrible cycle begins, I nap (if I'm lucky) or more times than not, lay in bed awake for 3 hours before I just get up!

Now the recovery hinderer!

I'M TO TIRED TO DO ANY HOME THERAPY! NONE! GRRRRRRR!

There has got to be a natural way out of this peeps!

Since my stroke September 17th 2010, my family has survived on less than $19,000.00 a year.

Largely because of my son Ryan putting his own life on hold and helping us financially.

We, including Ryan working for an underground company and lack of funds due to rain. We are $700.00 short on our mortgage.

I have no clue what's happening to me but as I'm being inspired to write this, there's a groaning and crying of sadness from deep within my core as a man!

Listen hard peeps!

Don't take your gift of health for granted like I did! 

Now a half paralyzed wheelchair bound stroke survivor I miss it with every fiber that makes me who I am as a man!

Your life, all your abilities here on earth are a fragile gift! Don't take them for granted like I did!

I didn't realize what I had until I lost it all as fast as lightning strikes!

PLEASE LISTEN PEEPS!

To stand on an ocean bluff and hear the ocean surf pound against the rocks

I took my gift of health for granted!

To go fishing with my son

To feel sand from a beach under my feet

Mine does, unfortunately to the people that are close to me. My stroke brain gets on a train of thought insisting it's right on something to the point of saying something, only to offend people and hurting their feelings. Only to find out I was 100% wrong and the train of thought was only my stroke brain fixating!

Oh, and try to apologize to the people on the other end trying to explain what your stroke brain has done!

Of course they can't comprehend my explanation of my stroke brain. They just can't understand! 

It's 100% wrong for us to expect non stroke people to understand what it's like to be a stroke survivor!

They can only love and have sympathy!

Only another stroke survivor can have true empathyand understanding.

You feel me peeps?

DEVON FRANKLIN CAN YOU FIND SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BE A MIRACLE?

DeVon, my brother, I'm sorry I have to ask you but I have no one else to ask.

So I have a stroke survivor brother in San Mateo, California who was a financial guy before his stroke. But as stroke does to most of us it decimates our lives!

His name is Scott M Chapman

He has lost everything including his home!

Scott has been living on the streets for 6 months. Yesterday I read a post from him that says:

"Just got kicked out of the alley I've been living in for months"

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! DEVON! MY HEART BREAKS FOR HIM!

As you may know, my divine vision is to build a multi million dollar company so I can give the money to stroke survivors in need around the world. But that's going to take me some time.

So until it happens will you, Oprah, Bishop Jakes and Joel Osteen help me by helping my stroke survivors in desperate need of human kindness a miracle if you will?

I need your guys help getting this brother stroke survivor off mine off the streets and into a live in care facility as soon as possible?

Start by picking one small thing you're deeply grateful for. Dwell on it! Repeat it over and over! When no one's around verbally yell you're grateful montra!
